Cost by state

How much does house cleaning cost in each state?

A Standard Recurring Clean starts from $169 per visit depending on the state, as of September 2026. Bedrooms, bathrooms and how often you book set the final number, and it is fixed before the visit. The spread is labor cost, not the service: the same three-bedroom, two-bathroom home is one number in Jackson and a higher one in Seattle. Inside a state the metro sits above the rest, and the state page shows that split by region. Call (877) 549-4411 with bedrooms, bathrooms and how often you want us, and you get the number.

Standard house cleaning

What does a basic house clean include?

A Standard Recurring Clean covers the surfaces a home touches every day. A Deep Cleaning adds the places a regular visit skips.

In a standard visit

  • Dust surfaces, shelves, furniture
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs
  • Mop hard floors
  • Kitchen counters, sink, stovetop
  • Outside of appliances
  • Toilets, tubs, showers, sinks, mirrors
  • Empty trash bins
  • Light switches, door handles
+

Deep Cleaning only

  • Baseboards
  • Inside oven
  • Inside fridge
  • Inside cabinets and drawers (emptied)
  • Ceiling fans and light fixtures
  • Door frames and tops of doors
  • Window sills and tracks
  • Interior windows within reach
  • Grout scrub in showers
  • Behind and under movable furniture and appliances
  • Blinds and vent covers

Not included in either: laundry, dishes left in the sink, exterior windows, carpet shampooing, organizing or decluttering, moving heavy furniture, mold or biohazard cleanup.

Per hour or per visit

Is $50 an hour a good rate for house cleaning, and what does three hours buy?

An hourly rate only tells you what you pay if the job runs long. Three hours at $35 is $105, but the same home that takes a first-time house cleaner three hours takes a crew who knows it two, and the price you were quoted is not the price you pay either way.

01

We quote the visit, not the hour

A Standard Recurring Clean is one number for the whole home, set from bedrooms, bathrooms and how often we come, and it does not move once we are inside.

02

Three hours the first time, closer to two on a schedule

Two of us on a 2,000 square foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home. The number stays the same either way.

03

Compare per visit

Take any hourly quote, multiply by the hours the cleaner expects, and put it next to the state table above. If the hourly total is lower, ask what happens when it takes longer.

Bedrooms, bathrooms, frequency and current condition move the quote. Your state page shows the split by region.

How often

Weekly, bi-weekly or monthly: which one fits?

Weekly for a lived-in family home with kids, pets or both; bi-weekly for two working adults; monthly for one or two people who keep up between visits. The price per visit falls as the frequency rises, because a home cleaned every week takes less time than one cleaned every month, and on any plan the same crew comes back. Change the frequency when life changes; there is no contract to rewrite.

If the home has gone more than a few months without professional cleaning, the first visit is a Deep Cleaning and the schedule starts after it.

House cleaning prices: your questions answered

Speak with Homesheen(877) 549-4411
How much should I pay someone per hour to clean my house?
We do not price by the hour. A Standard Recurring Clean starts from $169 per visit depending on the state; bedrooms, bathrooms and how often you book set the final number, and it is fixed before the visit. An hourly rate only tells you what you pay if the job runs long. The table above shows your state, and (877) 549-4411 gets you the number for your home.
What will a cleaner do in 3 hours?
In about three hours a crew of two covers kitchens, bathrooms, floors, dusting and common living areas in an average home. A larger home or a first Deep Cleaning takes longer, and we say so before we start.
How long should it take to clean a 1500 square foot house?
Two to three hours for two of us on a standard visit, less once the home is on a schedule. Bathrooms and hard flooring set the time more than square footage does, which is why we quote from bedrooms and bathrooms rather than from the listing.
What is the difference between a standard clean and a deep clean?
A standard visit keeps a home at the level it is; a Deep Cleaning brings it back to that level. The included table above lists the rooms and tasks each one covers, line by line.
Do you work in my state?
If it is one of the 48 in the table, yes, with prices by region on the state page and a page for every city we serve there. Alaska and Hawaii are not covered.
