How much does house cleaning cost in Illinois?

In Illinois, a Standard Recurring Clean starts from $199 per visit; bedrooms, bathrooms and how often you book set the final number, fixed before the visit, as of September 2026. Homesheen quotes one flat price per visit, never an hourly rate: the quote is fixed before we start, and you book by calling (877) 549-4411. We do not advertise affordable house cleaning; we publish the price.

Chicago is Illinois's largest city, and its metro starts from $229 a visit, and the rest of Illinois from $219. Two services cost more than a standard visit: Deep Cleaning starts from $279 since it adds the inside of the oven and fridge, baseboards and cabinets, and Move In / Move Out starts from $319 since it covers an empty home cleaned wall to wall.

Price my home

Hourly rate vs per visit

Is $50 an hour a good rate for house cleaning, and what does three hours buy?

An hourly rate only tells you what you pay if the job runs long. Three hours at $35 is $105, but the same home that takes a first-time house cleaner three hours takes a crew who knows it two, and the price you were quoted is not the price you pay either way.

Homesheen quotes the visit, not the hour. A Standard Recurring Clean is one number for the whole home, set from bedrooms, bathrooms and how often we come, and it does not move once we are inside. Two of us on a 2,000 square foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home is a visit of about three hours the first time and closer to two on a schedule; the number stays the same.

So the honest comparison is per visit. Take any hourly quote, multiply by the hours the cleaner expects, and put it next to the Illinois ranges above. If the hourly total is lower, ask what happens when it takes longer.

Illinois homes

What is different about cleaning a home in Illinois?

Winter salt is what changes a house cleaning in Illinois: homes track in salt, slush and sand from November to March, and dry heated air through the season leaves dust on every surface.

Around Chicago, long winters bring road salt, slush and sand tracked in from November to March, and dry heated air adds dust; the kitchen takes longer to clean here. Hardwood and carpet cover most rooms with tile in the kitchen and bathrooms, and a mudroom or back entry plus a finished basement add extra square footage to vacuum.

Across southern Illinois, spring storms and mud run from March through June, with humid summers and the same winter salt; the kitchen takes longer to clean there too. Carpet and hardwood floors cover the living areas with tile in the bathrooms, and a basement plus a garage entry add mud and grit to sweep up.

Homes across Illinois most often book a first visit from March to April, after the salt season ends.

What lands on the invoice

Is the quote the final price, or does anything get added?

The number we quote is the number on the invoice. It already covers the crew, the cleaning supplies and equipment we bring, and any sales tax that applies to residential cleaning in Illinois; nothing is added afterward, and there is no travel fee inside the service area. If a visit runs longer than we planned, that time is our cost. The only way the figure changes is if you change the order: a Deep Cleaning instead of a Standard Recurring Clean, or a different frequency, and you see the new number before we come.

Why Homesheen

What is different about a Homesheen house cleaning in Illinois?

Three things, and they hold in every city we work in. The quote is one flat number for the visit, built from bedrooms, bathrooms and how often we come, and it does not move once we are inside. On a recurring plan the same crew comes every visit, so nobody relearns your kitchen. And there is no contract: weekly, bi-weekly or monthly cleaning, and you stop when you want.

We bring our own cleaning supplies and equipment: vacuum, mop, the products for kitchens and bathrooms. Laundry, organizing and exterior windows are not part of any visit, and the city pages list exactly what is, as a cleaning checklist for a Standard Recurring Clean and a Deep Cleaning. We do not promise a spotless home or that we go above and beyond; we promise the list, and if a spot on it was missed, tell us within 24 hours and we come back and redo it.

Speak with Homesheen(877) 549-4411
What is the going rate for house cleaning in Illinois?
A Standard Recurring Clean in Illinois starts from $199 per visit, as of September 2026. Bedrooms, bathrooms and how often you book set the final number, which is fixed before the visit. Your city page shows the exact local figure for the area. Call (877) 549-4411 for the number for your home.
What is the going hourly rate for a house cleaner in Illinois?
We do not charge by the hour. A Standard Recurring Clean in Illinois starts from $199 per visit, quoted as one flat price. That flat price protects you when a visit runs long, since the extra time is our cost to absorb, not yours.
How much does it cost to clean a 2000 sq ft house?
What sets cleaning time is bathrooms and hard flooring, not square footage. A Standard Recurring Clean in Illinois starts from $199 per visit, and a Deep Cleaning starts from $279. The city page for your area lists the exact 2,000 square foot figure.
Will anything be added to the quote?
No. Tax, supplies and travel inside the service area are already in the number, and it does not move once we are inside. Change the service or the frequency and you get a new number before the visit, not after.
How much do cleaners charge for 3 hours?
We do not sell hours. A Standard Recurring Clean on a typical Illinois home is one flat price for the whole visit, and the section above shows how to compare that against an hourly quote. If the job takes longer than we planned, that is our cost, not yours.
How often should a home be cleaned in Illinois?
Weekly or bi-weekly for a lived-in family home, monthly for a home with one or two adults. A first visit on a home that has gone months without a house cleaning service is a Deep Cleaning, a one-time cleaning that resets the home, and the recurring cleaning schedule starts after it. The regional section above says which season Illinois homes book that first visit.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. Pick weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, change it when life changes, and stop when you want. The price per visit is set by the frequency you are on at the time.
Which Illinois cities do you cover?
212 of them, listed at the top of this page with a link to each city's own price and calculator. If your town is not on the list, call (877) 549-4411 and we will tell you whether a nearby crew reaches it.
