How often should gutters be cleaned in Idaho?
Idaho homes need two gutter cleanings a year, before snow and after melt.
The standard schedule is twice a year: October, ahead of the first snow and the leaf drop, and April, once the winter melt clears out. Ponderosa pine, cottonwood, aspen and spruce shed needles and leaves that pack the gutters fastest in that October window, while dry summers otherwise keep debris to a minimum.
Homes shaded heavily by ponderosa pine do not get a set third visit, but the gap between the two cleanings shrinks, since needle drop keeps building through the fall.
