How often should gutters be cleaned in Nevada?
Nevada needs one to two gutter visits a year, split between desert and mountains. Around the Las Vegas Valley, standard homes clean once or twice: June, ahead of the summer monsoon, and October, once it has passed. There is no real leaf season here, just a light spring shed from palo verde and mesquite, so dust storms and flash downpours during the July to September monsoon fill the trough with debris faster than any tree does.
Around Reno, the mountain side of the state runs on a different calendar: two cleanings, early October before the first snow, and May after the melt. Cottonwood, green ash, aspen and blue spruce are the trees to watch, and snow that runs October to April brings ice dams on top of whatever summer hail already dented the trough and downspouts. Either way, a full gutter in Nevada meets its hardest test at the extremes: a monsoon downpour in the valley or an ice dam in the mountains, which is why gutter maintenance ahead of each season matters across the state.
